Hey there, hop stuff! Join us mid-January for a night of learning and tasting some of our favorite India Pale Ale (IPA) beers under the stars and moon (ok, we’re in Michigan – middle of winter – so the event will be indoors). Originating in England, British merchants would travel via ship back and forth to India, using hops to preserve their pale ales for the long journey. Thus, the IPA was born. An extension of the pale ale category with higher gravity ranges and an enhanced hop presence, IPAs have become one of the most popular styles of beer in the craft beer world. Although malt flavors are often present and offer balance, IPAs are a true celebration of hop aroma, flavor, and bitterness. Newly developed hop varieties continue to bring exciting new flavors to this style, proving that bitter is beautiful.

This dinner will include four dishes paired with four IPA beers. Our brewers and chef will be on hand to talk about the beers and food pairings, as well as answer any questions you may have.
